Text string length, strange limitation

Sending text string by "TT" (default font) it looks that this string is limited to circa 21 characters ! I cannot print longer text. The text is truncated and module hangs up.

To make it longer I have to cut the string into two shorter parts and print them twice in one line.

Is it normal ????? Why it is not mentioned in manual ? Or maybe it is a bug in your software (frankly speaking I see no reason why the string is so limited in length).

RE:Text string length, strange limitation

No limitation, maybe the communication too fast and cause the display lost data

RE:Text string length, strange limitation

Hi Service,

I use UART 9600 so I don't think that it is too fast.. Any other idea ?

RE:Text string length, strange limitation

We never seen this problem before, try to use our online emulator to check your code.

RE:Text string length, strange limitation

Emulator works, the module doesn't. I send TP to set the position and then TT followed by a string, and terminating 0x00. When the string is shorter than 22 characters (if I remember well) it will be printed. Standard default font

When longer then it is truncated to this length and starts to blink. The module stops working at all and has to be reset by switching power off.

Ok, so instead of one string in line I print two shorter strings but don't you think that it is ridiculous ?

RE:Text string length, strange limitation

Did you upgrade the firmware to V4.3 by using the downloaded file before 27-Feb. 2019? there is a bug in that version of V4.3, if YES, please redownload the file and upgrade the display again.

RE:Text string length, strange limitation

hI,

My firmware is V4.2V so I can upgrade it to 4.3. Do you think that it may solve all these other problems ? Anyway I will do it and I will let you know.

RE:Text string length, strange limitation

Please operatate your UART port properly as basic knowledge:

1) when sending, don't load new byte to UART if previous byte didn't completed sent out

2) when receiving, please use interrupt to save new received byte in UART in order to avoid comming byte overwrite the last one, which drive you lost data
