Higher Baud Rates not working.......

Digole,

I noticed in the specifications for the Model: DS160120LCD-51 it states the following;

UART baud (bps): 300, 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 14400, 19200, 28800, 38400, 57600, 115200, 203400, 406800.

I can use 115200 without any problems.

But when I try to use either 203400 or 406800 it doesn't work.  Any ideas on how to make it work?

Thanks,

RE:Higher Baud Rates not working.......

Some thing can cause this problem:

1) the baud rate on both sides out of matched.

2) the receiving buffer on the display overflowed.

RE:Higher Baud Rates not working.......

Thank you for replying so quickly.

I went to my USART Baud Rate Calculator spread sheet and found that I have too much timing error with a baud rate of 203400.

I don't understand that particular choice of baud rate.  Let me explain;

My system, running at 18432000, works with zero percent timing error at 9600 and 115200.

Usually the baud rates I see are just multiples of another baud rate.

Example; 9600 * 12 = 115200

You use;

115200 * 1.765625 = 203400.

If you had used;

115200 * 2 = 230400,  Then my system would work at that baud rate.

Is that baud rate of 203400 attainable with other systems?

Thanks,

RE:Higher Baud Rates not working.......

We may have the document wrong, try 230400.

RE:Higher Baud Rates not working.......

I did try setting things up for 230400, but it didn't work either.

the maximum speed I can successfully acheive is 115200.  No higher.

Is there anyone out there that has been able to get a display working at a higher baud rate than 115200?????

Thank you again for your help

RE:Higher Baud Rates not working.......

Did you send change baud rate command to display before using new baud rate? and did you change the number from 203400 to 230400?

RE:Higher Baud Rates not working.......

Yes to both questions.  Just as I do for changing the baud to 115200.  The only difference is now I change everything to operate at 230400.

But the display doesn't react to any commands I send at 230400.

Thanks

RE:Higher Baud Rates not working.......

probably our Chinese staff preloaded older version of FW on the module, the latest is V4.2:

RE:Higher Baud Rates not working.......

all my displays have 4.2 on them

but thanks
